The grant writer position is primarily responsible for researching, developing and writing funding proposals based on specific concepts or projects, and then submitting the proposal to the most appropriate funding source. The grant writer will have the opportunity to work on a vast array of concepts and projects for multiple charities and non-profit organisations including the Professional Services Collective. Grant writing is about persuasively communicating a concept or project in a way that enables the funding source to properly evaluate the submission against its selection criteria. The grant writer must be able to work as part of a team and will report directly to the Executive Officer for Legal Assistance & Appropriations

Responsibilities include

  • Developing and writing grant proposals
  • Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations;
  • Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with Charities and Non-profit organisations contacts and program officers;
  • Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports;
  • Conducting prospect research;
  • Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines and manage supplemental material required for proposals’

Minimum Requirements

Keen to participate, and learn, no previous experience necessary, all training provided

Basic computer skills in Microsoft office or equivalent
